Excitement

Do you count down the days until you go on vacation?

You know the feeling you get once you book a vacation and you know exatcly when you leave, it fills you full of excitement and joy, hence the reason for a countdown.

The closer the day you leave gets, the more excited you become. You think about what you're going to do, what you are going to see, and how much you plan on relaxing.

Vacation is such an enjoyable time yet it always seems to go by too fast. Anyway, when you have a day or two left before you leave, you feel like you are going to explode with crazy, excitement. You are watching the clock until that day is done because you know that it is one day closer to going away, away from work, away from stress, away from your little, hectic world.

Once the day comes for you to leave, you anticipate the arrival of your vacation destination and you start to ease yourself into a relaxation mode.

You arrive at your destination and you take deep breath and softly say "We're Here," with a grand smile on your face. You know that the following days will be filled with memories and great times.

Enjoy your vacation and don't take one moment for granted :-)

Good Morning

When you wake up, it's a great morning. As you do your daily routine, it's a beautiful morning. While you eat your breakfast, it's a wonderful morning.

Do you notice that as soon as you wake up, you go, go, go?

Do you take a moment or two to be thankful for the day you get to live?

Everyday goes by faster and faster and we need to relax a little and take in the blessing we have received in getting another day to live.

When you wake up, look outside and whether it is cloudy and gloomy or hot and shiny, smile because you know that today is another day that is a gift for you. Kiss your children and your spouse, and Live today knowing that you have been blessed :-)

Sunshine

Sunshine makes us Smile, Sunshine makes us glow, Sunshine makes us healthy. Sunshine should be enjoyed every moment because it does not last forever and not everyday is all sunshine. Smiles are contagious so the more we smile the more happy people are and the more sunshine we can spread :-)

Days Come and Go but Memories Last Forever

What a Beautiful 4th of July weekend. It was hot and humid and just enough to make permanent holes in my brain filled with great memories and lasting impressions of what we did and how relaxing it was. Camping at Long Lake was the definitly the highlight. My husband and I went with a great couple from our church and we bonded so much, it was fantastic. We were able to just relax, sit by the campfire, share our crazy stories, swim, kayak, get a lot of sun, and then more relaxing. I am so blessed with what God has given me, his blessings are bountiful!

Being Too Nice can have it's benefits...

I manage a little hotel in a medium sized town and for the last three and a half years, I have witnessed extreme craziness, obsessive and compulsive people, people who are always mad about everything, and people who absolutely love our facility. Well, as I went into work today, I found myself in the middle of a huge confrontation between a guest and the front desk employee. The guest was complaining about anything and everything he could which ranged from having an inside room, to a changed rate for his room, to the room was too hot, thermostat was not working, HVAC override was insufficient and that he just wants to leave. I walked up to him and the employee and asked what I could do. The man said "fix my problems," so I then asked him, "what would you like me to fix sir?" He then started getting mad again and started to use inappropriate words towards me and the front desk employee. I simply said, "let's go for a walk" and the man stopped and came with me. I told him that I wanted to do what I can to help him but that he needed to calm down just a little and not use the inappropriate words as that is disrespecting. The man calmed down and told me all of his issues, I apologized profusely and told him that I would personally guarantee him that the air in his room would be cooler, that I would hand check his thermostat, put a fan in his room and give him a discount for the inconvenience he has endured. The man and his wife left the hotel, I went up to his room to do as I had said and then he walked in, stood in the doorway in astonishment. He saw me working with the air vent, putting in the fan, he then said "I'm sorry, I forgot my camera. I didn't really expect you to be up here to fix the air. I have asked for help by other hotels and no one does what they say they will do so I assumed you just wanted to cool me down. I apologize and thank you for what you are doing." I stood up from the fan I had placed on the floor in front of the vent and said, "I understand how you feel and that's why I try to take the best care of the people who stay here because I just want them to feel at home and that they enjoy there stay here." The man took off his sunglasses, walked the 8 feet to me, shook my hand and said, "It's so nice to hear that there are business people out there who do care, Thank You."

My day, if not my week was made by this man who had started off with hatred and disappointment and turned it into compassion and kindness. You may not know what kind of person you are going to run into but being kind and offering them a smile can change their attitude in a matter of seconds.

Never Ending

Seems like everything happens at once doesn't it? At the end of the day I am so glad to be in bed and relaxing until the thoughts pop into my head about what I have to accomplish tomorrow. It's never-ending and sometimes it is so overwhelming that I have to take a deep breath and just pray! Pray that everything turns out better and that everything that is happening would just start making sense. What I have found out, is if you ask yourself or someone else, "What next?", something else will happen which makes you even more frustrated. However, I have come to understand that if you ask about what else could possibly happen or go wrong, then you are losing faith in the one person who just wants to help you out and carry your burdens. Giving Jesus Christ your burdons, frustrations, and stress can make you feel so much better, all because you will know that you are not going through all of this alone. So, chin up and keep on going, because it will get better and tomorrow is another day!
